Beaucroft Foundation School
Beaucroft is a Foundation Special School that caters for children and young people between the ages of four and nineteen who are experiencing learning difficulties, including complex needs, and those with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
Beaucroft Foundation School spans two floors complete with four classrooms and connected breakout rooms, a purpose-built sensory room, meeting rooms and ancillary facilities. The exterior features Redwood Timber cladding to fit in with existing buildings and the forestry setting of the school.
ESS Modular installed, finished and handed over the building in just 12 weeks. Due to the location within the existing school grounds, the building had to be delivered on site in just two days during school holidays to ensure minimal disruption. It also features a purpose-built sensory room to provide an oasis for young people when they feel overwhelmed or overstimulated.
Speaking at the opening, Co-Headteachers Diane Makariou and Joe Barnett said, “We are absolutely delighted with our new building. ESS Modular from the very start were great to work with - collaborating on design and ensuring timescales were adhered to. They helped make the experience painless and positive. The end result is incredible, providing high spec, quality provision for our senior classes. Each of the four learning zones has a life-skills area and break out room for those benefiting from a separate space. The new building also includes accessible toilets and a specialist sensory room. It is a pleasure to show visitors our new facility complete with Redwood Timber cladding to complement the woodland setting. The new building is an asset to the school and is having a positive effect on children and staff.”
