ESS Modular Covid 19 Update

ESS Modular Covid 19 Update

Our manufacturing facilities and projects have adjusted very well to our new Covid-19 reality. We have a Covid Steering Group who meet regularly to review the latest government guidance and advise our teams on how we will comply with best practice.

All ESS workplaces have appointed Covid Champions who work collaboratively with staff and management to monitor our arrangements and consult on our measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

We are implementing five key steps to ensure we can work together safely. These include:

  1. Social distancingvia measures such as remote working, staggering breaks and start/finish times, limiting numbers in welfare areas, travelling alone to site.
  2. Enhanced cleaning regime in all workplaces, especially of key touch points, e.g. handles, banisters, hard surfaces.
  3. Promoting frequent handwashing– providing additional handwash or hand sanitising stations and training staff on handwashing techniques.
  4. Involving all staff in monitoring how we’re managing the risk -  completing compliance checklists, holding safety committee meetings, interactive toolbox talks.
  5. Where close working is unavoidable, we control the risk via limiting duration and number of people involved, avoiding working face-to-face and use of additional PPE.

We believe that modular construction is the future and we are looking for energetic people who share our ambition to join us on our journey.
